Education to Employment Pilot

Ages: 14-Retirement

We are seeking to develop a programme that links an employer and a paid job to an individual with learning difficulties from the age of 14.

The programme will start with the school and the employer working together with the young person to create a suitable role. The employer will act in the capacity of mentor and provide work experience opportunities whilst the school shapes the individual’s curriculum around the role.

Upon leaving school, the young person will move into a supported internship with the employer, leading to an apprenticeship and a paid career.
